How to locate an item

Early boxes - contains the black & brown japanned, mild steel & those with cork or chenille to hold the flies. Cast boxes & Fly wallets are also here.

Loch leven Eyed fly boxes

has the pictorial followed by sections devoted to the coloured boxes.

Minnow boxes has the black japanned and alloy with a seperate page for the Hockley Minnow boxes

Clip boxes are listed by size, starting with 30 clips and going to 238.

Other Alloy boxes contains the compartment / Dry Fly, those with Kilroy Spring and the Magnetic boxes.

Special Boxes includes the commemorative boxes and the odds and ends that are so scarce

Miscellany has foam, logos and dating of boxes random thoughts and accessories

I have added a new page for boxes built specially for tackle retailer and those customised or badged for sale by tackle sellers and completed work on the early compartment boxes

Rarity value is based on the simple system below

A - this boxes are either still available via Richard Wheatley, other fishing tackle dealers.

C- box is common & turns up regularly at vintage tackle dealers, fairs or auctions incl. ebay

S- this box is scare but turn up on occasions

R- this box is rare

RR- these are very rare

E - this is exceptional, extremely rare and few examples are known.
