Griffith Minnows

In 1923 T.L. Griffith, Frank and Richard Wheatley jointly patented what was to be marketed as "Griffiths Minnow." The one below has a silver head gold body and red fins and photographed on the drawing of the original patent. The minnows are marked "patent applied for." on the fins which can be changed to produce a faster or slower spin. The brass fins seem to loose the red colouration on some minnows. Chris Sandford of British Baits fame has allowed me to use one of his photograph of a small minnow on the original sales card with gold head and silver body showing three sets of fins supplied.
